Dr Lesley Kavi describes the resources available from The Syncope Spotlight Project and how to access them and talks about the search for an underlying diagnosis, appropriate investigations, syncope red flags and when to refer.
Three ages of syncope; syncope in children, pregnancy and the elderly
Dr Kavi will discuss common causes of syncope in children, briefly covering reflex anoxic seizures, vasovagal syncope, postural tachycardia syndrome and syncope in young athletes. The causes and implications of syncope during pregnancy will be described. The final part of the talk will consider the relationship between syncope and falls in older people.
