Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS) is an abnormality of the autonomic nervous system. PoTS is widely misdiagnosed and inadequately treated with 50% of sufferers being told that their physical disability is due to anxiety and/or depression. The average journey to diagnosis takes 7 years.
Symptoms of PoTS include profound fatigue, heart palpitations, blackouts, chest pain and gut and bladder malfunctions.
Concerningly, PoTS is being diagnosed in long-Covid patients; experts anticipate an explosion of postural tachycardia syndrome.
PoTS UK is passionate about raising awareness and improving the lives of those with PoTS! We strive to educate and support both patients and medical professionals and advocate for our members by seeking better NHS services, more research, and targeted treatments for people with PoTS.
