Session 2 – Atrial fibrillation and stroke prevention
The diagnosis gap and optimising the value of a QOF Point – Kavita Oberoi
Through opportunistic detection of AF, prevalence rates have increased over the years, however there is still a diagnosis gap.
In addition to the diagnosis gap a number of diagnosed AF patients are missing from the QOF registers due to coding errors. This means patients could be missing being risk assessed and receiving stroke prevention therapy
The presentation covers both the clinical and financial impact of missing diagnosed AF patients and guidance on how to identify these patients.
